HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL . . . AND SO DOES JOYE!
Joye in Aiken has always been about the transformative power of the arts – for us as adults and especially for our children. In every Festival and Outreach Program, our aim has always been to forge experiences that lift, challenge, and renew our spirits by allowing us all to participate in the very highest reaches of artistic expression. So in these unsettled times, we continue our commitment to excellence in the arts, with special attention (as always) to the needs of our schools and students. In 2021, that will mean re-thinking how we do things. But the mission has not changed, nor has our dedication to it.
This year, instead of a single Festival week, we bring you a schedule of top-tier performances and outreach events spread over several months in the spring. This gives us the opportunity both to assure that all events will be conducted according to the strictest health and safety guidelines, and the flexibility to explore new ideas and venues. Most performances will be outdoors; outreach will be conducted via a new video format. We’re excited about creating this fresh “take” on Joye in Aiken and hope that you will be, too.
Even in unsettled times, the arts can help fill our lives with magic and joy. We look forward to sharing that magic and joy with you.
