Mason Collins

Mason Collins is a young educator and musician originally from Aiken, South Carolina. During his high school career, Collins participated in the first ever Joye in Aiken Jazz Camp, helping solidify his love of music and teaching as he entered college. Throughout his time at the University of South Carolina, Collins performed with various ensembles, including a trip to the Savannah Jazz Festival with the university’s premiere jazz band, The Left Bank Big Band. After graduating from USC with a Bachelor of Music Education and saxophone performance certificate, Collins accepted a position teaching middle school band in Pawleys Island, SC, where he was selected as a finalist for the school district’s Rookie Teacher of the Year. Although Collins is a teacher full time, he still finds time to play different woodwind instruments with various community ensembles and local musicians around the area.
